Addison Station opened on Saturday, October 25, 2025, as one of the stops on DART's new Silver Line. Three weeks before its first anniversary, the trains are running, but the transit district planned around them is still mostly paperwork. Anyone stepping off the platform at 4925 Arapaho Road this fall finds the same Addison Circle restaurants, pub patios and park that were there before the line opened. For at least another year, the old Addison Circle is the station's neighborhood. That shapes how the train is worth using.
What the first ten weeks of ridership show
DART's March 10, 2026 ridership presentation counted 141,000 Silver Line trips in the line's first quarter, October through December 2025. The quarterly averages were 2,100 trips per weekday, 5,300 per Saturday and 2,500 per Sunday. That Saturday figure looks like a weekend line. The daily counts tell a different story.
Opening day drew 11,600 riders. Saturday, November 8 drew 7,550. After that, weekend numbers dropped below weekdays. In December, regular weekdays mostly fell between 1,500 and 1,700 trips. Sundays fell to 900 on December 14, 1,100 on December 21 and 1,000 on December 28. The big Saturdays came from the launch and early curiosity. Once that faded, the line settled into steady weekday use.
That matches what the line was built to do. The Silver Line runs 26 miles from Shiloh Road in Plano to DFW Airport Terminal B, stopping in Plano, Richardson, Dallas, Addison, Carrollton, Coppell and Grapevine. It crosses the suburbs instead of running into the city. DART says plainly that the Silver Line does not go to downtown Dallas.
The trip the line does best from Addison
The airport run is the clearest use for an Addison household, and it takes a few steps:
- Board at Addison Station, 4925 Arapaho Road. The station connects to DART bus routes 239 and 250 and to GoLink on-demand service.
- Plan on about half an hour. On the current weekday timetable, one early train leaves DFW Terminal B at 5:28 a.m. and reaches Addison at 5:59 a.m.
- Check the time of day. Weekday trains run about every 30 minutes at peak and hourly at midday. The first departure from the airport is 4:28 a.m. and the last is 12:28 a.m. DART posted a revised weekend timetable effective September 21, 2026, so check weekend trips against that schedule, not last year's.
- Know your terminal. Silver Line trains reach Terminal B by a lower-level walkway near Entry B43. Travelers on other terminals connect by Skylink or Terminal Link.
A trip to DFW is where a half-hour ride with a fixed schedule beats the alternatives. For a late flight into a terminal other than B, the transfer adds time.
The block the station inherited
Coming home from the airport, the platform lets out next to a dining district that was already established. Visit Addison's guide to eating around Addison Circle, published in August 2023, two years before the trains, already named Java & Hopps Café in the park pavilion. Here's what's within walking distance of the station, with current evidence that each place is operating:
- Java & Hopps Café, 4970 Addison Circle. The Town lists it as the concessionaire for the Addison Circle Park pavilion. Its website offers online ordering.
- Antonio Ristorante, 4985 Addison Circle. Dinner service, reservations, and a 2025 Wine Spectator award on its website.
- The Lion & Crown, 5001 Addison Circle. The pub posted a live-music listing on October 2, 2026, and offers takeout ordering for Addison.
- El Rincon Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar, 5004 Addison Circle. Posts current hours and takes online pickup orders.
- Dolce Paradiso, 5030 Addison Circle. Online ordering, with separate business and carryout hours.
- The Mucky Duck, 5064 Addison Circle. Current food and drink menus and specials.
- Astoria Caffe & Wine Bar, 15701 Quorum Drive. A café by day and a wine bar later, with posted hours.
These businesses gave the station a neighborhood from its first day. During the city's biggest weekend they also absorb the overflow. Addison Oktoberfest ran September 17 through 20 this year at Addison Circle Park, and the Town's road-closure notice pointed out that Addison Station borders the festival grounds.
Why the land beside the platform is still waiting
The district meant to give the station its own identity is Addison Junction. In September 2025 the Town approved a development agreement with Quadrant Investment Properties for a $240 million, 14-acre project at the station. Plans call for a 155,550-square-foot mass-timber office building, a 140-room hotel, 30,000 square feet of entertainment space, a 12,000-square-foot event venue, restaurants, a Texas-themed beer garden, rooftops and public plazas. The Town's announcement didn't name any restaurant tenants.
The schedule has moved since then:
| Date | Milestone |
|---|---|
| September 10, 2025 | Council approves the development agreement |
| December 2025 | Town-sponsored coverage forecasts construction in summer 2026 |
| February 10, 2026 | Council approves preliminary Planned Development zoning |
| March 2, 2026 | Public-infrastructure project timeline begins |
| June 12, 2026 | Town update looks ahead to construction in 2027 |
| December 31, 2027 | Public-infrastructure project end date on the Town's page |
The Town's latest performance update says design of the public infrastructure is underway and expected to go out for bids this fall. The private developer's final site, landscape, façade and lighting plans are still being prepared for final approval. The trail is on a similar schedule. DART's project page puts the Addison-area Phase 2 of the Cotton Belt Trail at 2027. Until both are built, the hotel, beer garden and plazas are plans, and the restaurants on Addison Circle are what's actually there.
Where the past year's openings landed instead
The past year's new places opened along Belt Line Road at Village on the Parkway, away from the station. Batbox opened its baseball simulators, bars and food service on October 15, 2025, at 5100 Belt Line Road. Landmark Bar & Kitchen operates in the same center at Suite 410, with a chef-led kitchen, a patio and hours from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. On May 26, 2026, the Council approved a zoning amendment for The Escape Game at Suite 420. The Town's announcement didn't include an opening date.
Across the road at 5225 Belt Line Road, Suite 220, Oak & Stone announced a summer 2026 target for its Addison restaurant. Its location page still says "Coming Soon." All four arrived because of Belt Line traffic, not the train. That is one more reason the Addison Circle block remains the station's real neighborhood for now.
The park's calendar between now and December
Addison Circle Park is in a quiet stretch right now. Work was scheduled to begin September 21 to fence the lower Water Gardens pool and the sidewalk beside it for repairs. All the fountain pools are to be drained, and the Town expects the work to finish by early November. On September 22 the Council approved a contract for a new park-wide holiday lighting display, scheduled to be ready for a holiday event on December 5. The Town says more event details will follow.
Several other dates fall before then:
- October 6, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. National Night Out at Les Lacs Park, with first responders, food and music.
- October 10, 9 to 10:30 a.m. Howl-O-Ween Pet Photos at Les Lacs Pavilion, 3901 Beltway Drive. The event is free.
- October 22, 6 to 8 p.m. The Fall Town Meeting at the Addison Performing Arts Centre, 15650 Addison Road, a natural place to ask where Addison Junction stands.
- October 30. Little Night of Frights is on the Town calendar. Check the Town's event listing for time and location.
Corporate Field Day is still on the October calendar, but its event page says the October 15 date is canceled and the event will return in spring 2027. The Silver Line's first anniversary falls on Sunday, October 25. By then the Water Gardens repairs should be close to their expected early-November finish, and the plans for the land next to the platform will still be heading toward bids.
